Fire In The House - Revival @ Christian Community Church

God has been doing a special work transforming the lives of His people at Christian Community Church since November 2000. There is a growing desire to honour God in every aspect of our lives, an ongoing hunger for more of Jesus Christ and His truth, and a greater sensitivity to flow with the Holy Spirit each time we gather.

Back in 1999, our pastors Dr. Khoo Kah Bin and Mrs. Angeline Khoo had a new burden to pray for revival in our church. A small group from the church started to meet every Wednesday for corporate prayer, focusing on revival, personal repentance and holiness, and the pursuit of God’s heart. Although we experienced some setbacks, we persevered in prayer.

As the Lord led them, the pastors preached uncompromising messages on pursuing God seriously, repentance and discipleship. There was a growing sense of the holiness and grace of God among the members in the church.

In November 2000, our pastors took a team of church members to a leaders?revival summit in Johore Bahru. Pastors Steve and Kathy Gray, founders of the Smithon Outpouring and World Revival Church, shared on revival. Our pastors and their team received an imparting from the Word of God and received prayer for a new fire for God. The team realised that revival is not just in the hands of some special revivalists, but in the hands of local churches as they obey the Lord. There was a new direction of how we should minister to others back in our church.

There was a new sense of expectancy as the team returned to Singapore, and things really began to happen in the church. The Holy Spirit manifested His presence in various tangible ways as His people worshiped Him corporately with a new level of passion, intensity and reverence. With hands raised and knees bowed, the presence of God was very real. Some heard angels singing, others felt the weight of the glory of God. Still others experienced the wind of the Holy Spirit and the fragrance of God.

People became more responsive to God’s call. Week after week, almost the entire church responded to the altar calls to receive prayer in response to hard-hitting sermons and spot-on prophetic words. Testimonies shared at the end of each session revealed how God was real and was transforming, healing and setting people free to follow and obey Jesus Christ. Even long-time Christians received a new passion for God. Great joy and excitement filled the church as we saw how God was working in people’s lives. Revival has come to the church and continues even till today!

In 2003, we were led by the Lord to be linked up with New Covenant Ministries International (NCMI), a non-denominational trans-local apostolic/prophetic team that seeks to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ by planting and equipping New Testament churches in every part of the world. Through NCMI, God has put in us a heart for the nations and a vision to see His kingdom advance through planting New Testament churches. We have also learned the Biblical pattern of building a strong church. There is deeper commitment to the local church family, and a renewed focus to advance the Kingdom of God by following New Testament patterns.

Through revival and our relationship with NCMI, we have been blessed with PASSION FOR GOD and the PATTERN OF GOD!

"The Lord called my wife Angeline and me to plant a church in Singapore in 1992. After eight years, we led the people to be really serious with God ?to honour Him and to pray for them to have a passion for God. Since then, there has been the manifest presence of God in the meetings. People became alive for Him.

Two years later, we began relating to the NCMI team. The church has progressed more since then. Ian McKellar confirmed my thinking that the church is to be led prophetically. Chris Wienand imparted the truth that we must function according to Bible pattern. The team also was invaluable in the area of working in partnership with the apostolic team and also church government and selection of leaders. Through all these, the Lord has impressed upon me a working blueprint of the church."
